You guys did an amazing job creating a trailer for my book. You managed
to capture with voice, art, and movement 250 pages of history in a 30-second
teaser. Now people ask me when the full-length movie version is coming
out! - Tina Cassidy
What is a Book Preview?
A Book Preview is a powerful marketing tool that immediately engages viewers
in your story and tempts them to buy and read your book. It brings a book
to life by combining video, graphics, animation, text, voiceover, and
music. Readers immediately understand what the book is about, why it’s
compelling, and why they’ll want to read it. Just like a movie preview,
an unforgettable Book Preview not only introduces the public to your book,
it makes them want to buy it. Some previews use period art and music to
evoke a historical timeframe. Others show the author talking directly
about the book. Still others evoke the mood of the book to draw the reader
in. We customize each preview to reflect the specific character of your
book and its audience.
How does a Book Preview sell my book?
Because the Internet gives you access to a global market, a good Book
Preview has the potential to reach more people than almost any other form
of advertisement. Not only can your preview be easily integrated into
your website, it’s also designed to be widely and easily distributed
beyond your website. And if you’re not all that comfortable with
the technology, don’t worry; we can help.
YOUR BOOK PREVIEW CAN BE:
• INCLUDED in your Electronic Press Kit to the media and to retailers.
• LINKED to in ads, emails, promotional material and directly at
the Point-Of-Purchase.
• EMAILED to your mailing list as part of a marketing plan.
• SHARED on bookseller, publisher, and other video-sharing websites.
• EMBEDED in book, writing, and target-audience blogs.
• PLAYED on bookstores’ in-store TV displays.
• PLACED with a link to your website as a banner ad in online newspapers,
journals, and blogs.
How is a Book Preview made, and how long does it take?
Each Book Preview usually takes about a week to two weeks to design, compose,
and edit, depending on the scope of the project. We work with you to assemble
the most appropriate visuals and audio, and then motion-design and edit
it. After that, we review your preview with you and make any revisions
needed to turn it into a finished piece. And thanks to the wonder of Internet
technology it doesn’t matter if you’re in Port Washington
or Puerto Villarta: nearly all of our collaborative efforts can take place
online. If the project requires it, we are also happy to travel to your
location.
Then what?
Once it’s done, we can work with your webmaster to integrate your
Book Preview into your site and to help you distribute it through Internet
video-sharing sites. You can also use your preview as just one component
of a larger promotional DVD or Podcast that tells more about you and your
books and can be used as a cost-efficient and convenient alternative to
a book tour.
How much does it cost?
The cost of a Book Preview ranges from $750 up to $3,000 or more, depending
on what elements go into it. Our rates page includes some of the options
available to you, but since each video is customized to your needs, we
suggest that you call us to discuss specific costs and find out how we
can help you use a Book Preview to reach a global audience.
TESTIMONIALS
The video preview is exactly what I envisioned, and working with
you was such an easy and painless process. Everything I wanted and imagined,
you included, and I can't tell you the number of compliments I've received.
Since posting the news online at various sites that my book has a video
preview, I've seen traffic increase tremendously, and my sales at Amazon
have even gone up. I think that before a book debuts, it's tremendously
helpful to the reader to hear and see the world that they will be entering
upon purchasing and receiving a novel. Your video preview has successfully
done that for Nefertiti and I couldn't be more pleased. I look forward
to creating a second video preview with you for the sequel to Nefertiti.
